A RivianForums R2 loop report records route choice, weather and driving context alongside efficiency. That context is more useful for comparison than treating one reported result as universal range. RivianForums: an R2 Washington loop
Give your report a specific scope: route, date, vehicle configuration and the question you hoped the trip would answer. Distinguish a scenic outing from a direct highway journey; they serve different purposes and need not produce comparable numbers.
Use a compact trip log with these fields:
- Route segment and distance traveled.
- Wheels, tires and notable cargo or external equipment.
- Temperature, rain, wind and elevation context when known.
- Starting and ending battery percentage.
- Station, connector, energy recorded, charging duration and total stop duration.
- Actual charge expense and any separate parking or session fees.
- Anything that changed the original plan.
Label estimates as estimates. If you report average speed, explain whether it includes time stopped. Do not silently turn a partial-battery drive into a tested full-battery range figure. If you perform an extrapolation, show the assumptions and call it a calculation rather than an observed distance.
Keep charging energy and driving energy separate when they come from different instruments. An expense receipt can establish what you paid; it cannot, by itself, establish battery capacity or drivetrain efficiency.
Close with one recommendation tied to your route and one unanswered question. State when the charger information was observed, because hours and availability can change. The purpose is to give the next traveler enough context to make their own plan, not to crown one owner’s result as the official R2 benchmark.
